A 2024-25 budget update was provided. Resources are not in alignment with district priorities. $640,000 of Covid money is still available. There are specific requirements attached and the deadline to use the funds is September 2024. There is instability of district leadership and unrealized budget assumptions. A budgeting framework is being used for best practices looking at return on investment and aligning priorities with the strategic plan.
Updates were provided on renovations at Lily Lake Elementary, Afton-Lakeland Elementary, Rutherford Elementary and Stillwater Middle School. Lake Elmo was scheduled to vote on March 6 on the new elementary school site.
Some school policies were reviewed with discussion of aligning them to the MN School Boards Association.
