LWV Council of Metropolitan Area Leagues of Women Voters (CMAL) and LWV Woodbury Cottage Grove are co-sponsoring a free, public Zoom webinar on water conservation, “Protecting the Metro Area Water Supply.”


Featured speakers:

Paul Gardner, Executive Director, Minnesota Clean Water Council — "Strategies for Agencies and Individuals" — Paul is the Administrator for the Clean Water Council, which recommends how to spend the Clean Water Fund. The Fund is derived from the dedicated sales tax increase approved by the voters in 2008 through the Clean Water, Land and Legacy amendment. Paul has also worked in the recycling industry for many years and served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from Shoreview 2007-2010.


Lanya Ross, Water Supply Specialist, Metropolitan Council — "Setting the [Water] Table" — Lanya, a geologist and environmental analyst, has spent 20 years working on water supply planning in the metro area. At the Metropolitan Council she collaborates with communities and public utilities on regional water supply planning, policy development, groundwater modeling and community engagement.
