(from the lwv.org website) On March 3rd, 2021, the House of Representatives passed HR1, or the For the People Act. Now the bill has come to the Senate as S1. This bill comprises a bold, transformative set of reforms to strengthen our democracy and return political power to the people. The League of Women Voters has worked to influence the language of this bill to ensure that voting rights are strengthened by this important legislation. LWV has done so within the Declaration for American Democracy coalition. LWVUS has put together several helpful resources and materials to help Leagues message about and advocate for the For the People Act.
