A public hearing regarding residential pavement improvement was held during the Cottage Grove City Council meeting on February 1, 2023. Public Works Director and City Engineer Ryan Burfeind presented a pavement replacement plan, information he shared during a January 12 th neighborhood meeting of eleven households at city hall. The project area is bounded by 80th Street S., Hyde Ave. S., and roads north of Hillside Trail. Estimated assessments are just under $5,000 for the 308 homeowners affected. Several residents shared concerns and questions about the project. Council adopted resolution 2023- 018 ordering the pavement project and authorizing preparation of plans and specifications. During the February 15, 2023Cottage Grove City Council meeting, Council adopted resolution 2023-026 approving a site plan review, planned unit development, and conditional use permit for a proposed childcare facility to be located at 7781 Hardwood Avenue. O2b Kids plans to build an 11,464 square foot educational facility to accommodate up to twenty-seven staff and 195 children, from infants through age four.
